SCS Refrigeration has a successful history of serving the FOOD & BEVERAGE industry. We are mindful of HACCP and GMPs procedures as required by the CFIA. We are flexible in our approach with the understanding that your operating schedule and process are our top priority. We currently serve a variety of clients who provide poultry, beef, pork, dairy, deli, cheese, ice cream, frozen and fresh food products. Additionally, we are versed in the RTE production & storage environment (cleanability) as well as dehydration and dehumidification (condensation) applications.
Ice Rinks & Community Centres
When it comes to recreation, SCS can keep your facility dry and the ice surface(s) at an optimum condition. We service and maintain ammonia engine rooms, dehumidification systems, evaporative condensers, chillers, heat recovery and HVAC units. Through an annual preventative maintenance program, 24h on call service and quoted equipment upgrades, our certified mechanics are able to do it all.
Ammonia Systems
At SCS we have 50 years of combined experience in AMMONIA SYSTEMS for the industrial, recreational & food industry. Our mechanics are TSSA certified and safety oriented. We can provide preventative & maintenance service, design/build capital projects, and assist in budget developments. Our team of professionals are able to help troubleshoot problems and or plan modifications to your existing systems and equipment. From servicing or repairing installed equipment to servicing or installing a new ammonia system with combined energy recovery, SCS has you covered for all your ammonia refrigeration needs.
Cooler & Freezer Storage
When it comes to REFRIGERATED STORAGE SCS has you covered. We can with our clients provide turn-key design build refrigeration systems to meet your needs regardless of the product, redundancy requirements or load. In addition, through a variety of control strategies we can improve the energy efficiency of your existing facility and or enhance your planned retrofit or new construction project to maximize energy savings.
Blast Freezing
Many food processes require BLAST FREEZING to speed up and improve food quality. Regardless of your refrigerant of choice; CO2, Freon or Ammonia; SCS can assist in designing, servicing or maintaining your blast freezer, tunnel or spiral application.
Chilled Water Systems
CHILLED WATER SYSTEMS are a major component in many process applications. At SCS Refrigeration we are able to design and service recirculating/batch process water, ingredient water, or glycol chilling systems and ice machines. Using your design parameters we are able to provide turn-key solutions to accommodate your process requirements and cooling load.
Energy Management & Planning
From concept planning, through to commissioning, SCS Refrigeration can help with your ENERGY MANAGEMENT & PLANNING. We are able to provide turnkey solutions to turn your energy conservation plans into real time savings. Our knowledgeable staff are able to assist with energy savings grant applications for conservation planning, retrofits, commissioning and or new construction. Previous projects include: hot water heat recovery from a central refrigeration plant, condensing unit consolidation, control integration, VSD fans, load shedding and more.
Operator Coverage
SCS has a host of Refrigeration Operators and Stationary Engineers who are able to monitor your facility during employee vacation times or extended absences. We also provide year round OPERATOR COVERAGE on a contract basis to assist our clients in staffing hard to fill positions. Our team of operators combined with the knowledge base of our mechanics and support staff makes for a win-win solution to worry free facility operations.
Control Integration
Refrigeration CONTROL INTEGRATION allows facility owners and operators to know how and when their equipment is operating. This leads to less down time, more timely maintenance and strategic operation for energy savings. SCS will work with you to design, develop and build a control system to meet your specific needs.
Parts Sourcing
At SCS we are able to source hard to find parts. No need to spend the whole day calling around the globe looking for those hard to find items. Our parts department is connected and up to date with new technologies as well as knowledgeable on antiquated equipment that is often hard to source parts for. As a value added service, our professional staff will work with maintenance planners and purchasing departments to source and procure parts for routine maintenance items so they are stocked and available when you need them. We have worked with clients on a JIT basis or on a VMI plan.
